May 30: Healthy Eating 101
With all the ways to "EAT HEALTHY" now-a-days, it can be an insane task trying to figure out what eating healthy actually looks like. I have patients come in all the time putting tons of work into eating healthy and often I sadly have to tell them that they have been mislead. This seminar is designed to provide you with time-tested information on WHAT does a healthy diet look like.
June 27: Healthy Dieting, Fad Dieting and Rapid Weight Loss
There are 1 million and one diets on the market and each one promises the health and body that we all desire, so how to we know what is best for us and what might be harmful to us? This seminar is designed to provide information about the pros & cons to the many current diets we keep hearing about.
July 25: Health Myths & Misconceptions that are Making YOU Sick
Unless you are a Doctor and required/interested in keeping up-to-date on changes in medicine and science you may never become exposed to changes in scientific "facts". It can take decades for disproven "facts" to become available to the public, and when they do often the reasons why these "facts" have been debunked are not provided and/or understood. This seminar is designed to inform you about old, out-dated health ideas/"facts" that we need to let go from our lives in order to maintain good health. Topics of discussion will include: salt, meat and fats.
August 29 - Traditional Chinese Medicine: Demystifying Acupuncture & Foundations for a Healthy Life
All my patients know how passionate I am about Traditional Chinese Medicine. I use it daily in practice because it has an incredibly sophisticated approach to health maintenance, diagnostics and treatment. This seminar is designed to explain acupuncture - what it is, what it does and how to use it, as well as will touch on some basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine to teach you general health maintenance tools that you can employ in your daily life. I specifically placed this seminar at the end of summer as Chinese Medicine has many tried and true methods for keeping the body health and supported through the season change so we don't find ourselves sick come September.
September 26 - Safe Detoxification
Detoxification is a tricky business and something I believe should always be done under medical supervision. Many of us have attempted detoxing in our lives only to end up feeling sick in the process. This sick feeling isn't a good thing. Most of the time it tells us that instead of removing toxins from our bodies we are simply causing them to recirculate and find new homes somewhere else inside us, a process that is quite damaging. This seminar is designed to teach people about the physiology of detoxification, safe ways to detoxify our bodies, what signs/symptoms alert us to problems in detoxification pathways and what we can do about these issues.
October 24 - Understanding Allergies, Intolerances and Sensitivities
Lactose intolerance. Celiac disease. Gluten intolerance. Sulfite sensitivity. This list goes on and on and it becomes convoluted and confusing to understand what is what. In our current lives food "allergies" are becoming increasingly prevalent and most of us don't really understand what all most of this "allergy" business means. This seminar is designed to educate and inform people on the difference between an allergy, intolerance and sensitivity. We will look at the difference between IgE vs IgG, and the difference between allergy, sensitivity and intolerance. The bulk of this seminar will focus on food concerns however we will touch on environmental concerns as well.
November 28 - The Mind & The Emotions
This seminar will be a mix of mind, body, emotion and spirit and their interrelation. It is designed to provide understanding of the emotions and the mind and what types of things effect the processing that goes on. I will provide new ideas and perspectives on the science and art of emotions so that we can stop being a victim to them and start using them to better ourselves and our lives. The emotions are a natural part of life and it is important for us to learn to embrace them!
December 20 - Maximum Health Herbs & Spices You can Grow Yourself
There is an endless list of herbs & spices that are beneficial to our health. In this seminar we will explore the benefits of a few of the most beneficial, wide ranging and safe herbs that you can grow in your own home and garden. We will discuss how to use herbs to obtain optimal benefit.
